The workshop will elaborate on recommendation nine of the 3rd global ministerial conference on road safety: to take advantage of technology development and its potential to contribute to road safety.
Several innovations that have turned into everyday safety features have Swedish origin. Often they have resulted from collaborations and a shared commitment to a common goal. Agenda 2030 and its goals related to mobility and road safety make up a driving force for continued common efforts on future road safety - in addition to the ever relevant Vision Zero.
This workshop highlights how to leverage change and ongoing development until 2030 to reach society's road safety ambitions. Invited panelists will give an overview of current technology trends and road safety aspects in future mobility. They will furthermore discuss knowledge gaps that need to be tackled in order to realize expectations and hopes on connected and automated transportation and artificial intelligence as contributors to enhanced road safety. Another of the Ministerial Conference's recommendations, about children's health, is taken as a specific "case" in a follow-up discussion with the panel and participants about how collaboration can continue to be a catalyst and how innovation can secure our future safe mobility.
