Information regarding coronavirus (COVID-19)

For people who have travelled from an area where COVID-19 is spreading, or have been in close contact with someone who recently travelled from such an area:

If you develop respiratory symptoms such as a persistent cough, difficulty breathing or fever – call 1177 for health advice.

For all delegates - general measures to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases (including COVID-19)

When coughing and sneezing, remember to cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or your flexed elbow.
If you see someone coughing or sneezing, try to stay at least one meter away from them.
Clean your hands regularly and thoroughly hands with alcohol-based hand sanitiser or soap and water.

About the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

In December 2019, a new disease caused by a type of coronavirus emerged in China. It has been named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization (WHO). Most people with COVID-19 get only mild respiratory symptoms that will disappear on their own. However, some people develop more severe illness, like pneumonia.
The virus is transmitted through contact with an infected person or via respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
There is a higher risk of infection if you have been in an area where the virus is spreading, or if you have been in close contact with a person infected with the new coronavirus.

At the conference

If on-site healthcare is needed: contact the Information Desk on floor 4 where the healthcare provider is located.
Disinfectant will be placed at various locations in the conference rooms.

Where will the conference take place?
The conference will take place at Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre in the city centre of Stockholm. Address: Nils Ericsons Plan 4, Stockholm.

How can I receive an invitation to the conference?
The target group for the conference is high-level representatives of policymaking, industry and research, international institutions, civil society and global organizations contributing to road safety efforts around the world. If you consider that you meet the requirements for participation, you may request an invitation to the conference.

Can I bring an accompanying person to the conference?
No. The conference attendance is per invitation only.

At the conference

How can I get my conference badge?
Each participant will receive a conference badge upon arrival. When registering, you need to show your confirmation barcode together with a photo identification, to receive your personal badge and to get access to the conference. You find the confirmation barcode on top of your confirmation letter.

It will not be possible to enter the conference without being registered.

In order to avoid queuing, if it’s possible, we recommend that you register on site on Tuesday 18 February the day before the conference starts, to receive your personal badge.

Will there be any meals served at the conference?
Morning coffee, lunch and afternoon coffee will be served during the conference.

Pre- and post-events

How can I attend a pre- or post-event?
The organiser of a pre- or post-event is in charge of everything related to the event. This means who to invite, send invitations, program etcetera and also all costs related to the event. If you would like to be invited, please contact the event organiser.

How will my application of a pre- or post-event be showed?
If the event is accepted as one of the pre- or post-events that will take place the same week as the Third Global Ministerial Meeting it will be showed in the program.

Accomodation

How can I book accommodation?
The conference organiser has made a block booking at different hotels in Stockholm. You will receive information about block booked hotels in conjunction to your registration to the conference. Hotel rooms are available on a first come, first served basis and the conference organiser cannot guarantee availability of rooms upon registration. Hotel rooms are booked and paid by each individual and the conference organiser take no responsibility of any payment or other fees related to the reservation.

How do I get from Arlanda Airport to Stockholm city centre?
To plan your trip you can use the SL trip planner, which covers bus, metro, light rail, rail, tram and ferry schedules.

At Stockholm Central Station "Stockholm City", you can enter the conference venue from street level at Nils Ericson Plan via Klarabergsviadukten 59, next to the upper entrance to Central Station.

Arlanda Express Train – 15 % discount on tickets for conference participants
The train journey takes about 20 minutes from Arlanda airport to Stockholm Central Station. At the airport, follow the signs toward Arlanda Express. You can buy train tickets online in advance or in a ticket machine at the airport. To receive a 15 percent discount please enter the code "roadsafety" at the time of booking. The train stops at Stockholm Central Station. Please see further down direction to the conference venue.

Airport coaches – Flygbussarna
From Arlanda Airport there is a direct bus connection to the Stockholm Central Station. The bus journey takes about 50 minutes from the airport.

Taxi
Taxis are available immediate outside of the airport. Trips to and from Arlanda Airport to Stockholm City should cost no more than approximately SEK 600 each way (as of 2019). The trip takes about 30-50 minutes depending on the traffic situation. Recommended taxi companies, with a set price, include "Taxi Stockholm", "Taxi Kurir" and "Taxi 020/Sverigetaxi". Be sure to check the price with the driver in advance. Major credit cards are accepted for payment.

How do I get from Bromma Airport to the conference venue and Stockholm city centre?

Airport coaches – Flygbussarna
You can travel with the Flygbussarna airport coaches between Cityterminalen in Stockholm and Bromma Stockholm Airport. The journey takes about 20 minutes and they run in line with flight arrivals and departures.
Tickets are sold at the airport Pressbyrån newsagents, at the self-service payment machine at the bus stop, and on board the coach. Only payment by credit card is accepted in the self-service machine and on board. You can also purchase tickets in advance in Flygbussarna's ap and on their web site.

Taxis
Taxis are available right outside the terminals. Only taxis that have an agreement with Bromma Stockholm Airport are at the taxi stand. Taxi stand officers are available, and you can contact them if you would like a particular taxi company or if you have a question.

General questions

Can I pay cash or with credit card?
Most stores handle cash but it is more common to pay by credit card today. Major credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants and shops. It is advisable to carry an identity card or other form of photo identification. The official currency is Swedish Krona (SEK).

If you still need cash there are many ATM machines available in central Stockholm.

How is the climate in Stockholm in February?
The average temperature in February is around -2°C (26°F).

Can I drink the tap water?
The drinking water quality in Stockholm is of high and consistent quality, which means that you can drink it directly from the tap.

What electricity power is used in Sweden?
Electrical current in Sweden is 220 V/50 Hz. Round, European-style two-pin plugs are used. Appliances designed to operate on 110/120 Volts need a voltage converter and a plug adapter.

What time zone is it in Sweden?
The time zone in Stockholm is GMT + 1 hour. Daylight Saving Time is used during the summer.

What smoking policy is there in Sweden?
Sweden has a non-smoking policy, i.e. smoking is prohibited in public buildings, public transport, restaurants, taxis, buses and trains.

I am I expected to leave a tip?
A gratuity is included in the price of hotels and taxis. It is common to leave a tip of around 10%. However, when visiting restaurants, you can show your appreciation for good service by leaving a little extra.

Where can I find tourist information in Stockholm?

Can I get a VAT Refund?
Swedish VAT, currently between 6% and 25% may be repaid to foreign enterprises, except banks and insurance companies, or companies providing health care or education.

What is your policy on sustainability and environmental work?

Sustainability is an important part of the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety. Issues concerning the climate, gender equality and democracy have clear links to efforts to increase road safety. To reduce the burden on the environment and contribute to a more socially and economically sustainable society, environmental considerations have been of central importance in the planning of the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety 2020. We think sustainability in all aspects of the conference, from material selection to production of units.
