During the Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety the Vision Zero approach got a lot of attention, especially in the Swedish exhibition arranged by The Swedish Transport Administration and Government offices.
Rapid action is needed to reduce accidents on the world's roads, where 3,700 people die every day. Halved death rates are the Stockholm Declaration's target, among other things, a 30-limit is proposed where cars and people are mixed.
Today, more than 1,700 participants from around 140 countries took part in the grand opening in Stockholm. The day began with an opening statement from His Majesty the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf.
We welcome all registered delegates to the 3rd Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety. The conference badge desk opens 18 February.
