Press Conference: Worldbank, Launch of the new report “Guide for Road Safety Opportunities and Challenges: Low- and Middle-income Country Profiles.”  This is the first complete assessment of all developing countries’ road safety status, including economic impacts and opportunities.

Press Conference: The European Investment Bank (EIB) and  the European Road Assessment Programme (EuroRAP), the International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP) and the Road Safety Foundation (RSF), announce a new partnership aimed at halving road casualties in Europe and beyond.  The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed by EIB Vice President Lilyana Pavlova and EuroRAP’s Chairman Ferry Smith. It represents a comprehensive approach adopted to facilitate advice, training and skills for large scale safer road investment programmes.

Press Conference: Safe Micromobility report, a new study by the International Transport Forum examines safety aspects associated with e-scooters and other micro-vehicles. Existing urban traffic patterns are being challenged by a new phenomenon: Micromobility – the electric scooters, e-bikes, motorised skateboards and other light personal mobility devices that have become hugely popular, along with traditional bicycles, for short trips.

Press Conference: The Academic Expert Group, AEG, has compiled a set of nine recommendations for a road safety strategy for the period 2020­–2030. AEG is responsible for making an independent and scientific assessment of the progress made during the Decade of Action for Road Safety and from an expert view recommend a road safety strategy for the period 2020­–2030.

Press Conference: Zoleka Mandela, Global Ambassador of the Child Health Initiative and Lord Robertson of Port Ellen, FIA Foundation Chairman, New Report: Reduce traffic speed worldwide to help prevent 2 million child deaths by 2030.

Zoleka Mandela, said: “Our children are crying out for action to protect them from the biggest threat to their lives – dangerous roads. I implore our leaders to stop paying lip service and start investing energy and money into the simple solutions that can save our children. Our manifesto sets out the simple, proven and universal measures – the ‘speed vaccine’ - that can make streets safe and liveable for everyone. There is no time to lose.”
